Flores en Hielo con Globos

This is another fun activity we decided to make this summer.You just need  balloons, water and flowers.

Esta es otra actividad divertida que decidimos hacer este verano. Necesita algúnos globos, agua y flores.

First you gently need to squeeze the flowers inside the balloon (we used tinny sticks to help us push the flowers inside the balloons), then fill them with water and put them in the freezer for as long as you need to freeze them. C was asking every hour if they were ready..she kept peeking and peeking into the freezer.

Lo primero es poner  las flores en el interior del globo (usamos palitos del jardin para ayudar a empujar las flores dentro de los globos), luego llenar los globos con agua y ponerlos en el congelador hasta que se congelen . C me preguntaba a cada rato si ya estaban listos.. ella iba a revisar el congelador y asegurarse de que aun no estaban listos..

We waited until next day, took them to our yard and C  and baby M threw each balloon to make them pop and it worked.

Nosotros esperamos hasta el dia siguiente para sacar los globos de congelador,nos fuimos al jardin , C lanzo los globos al pasto y se reventaron! asi que solo nos quedamos con el hielo en forma de globo.

We had so much fun playing and eating the flower balloon ice. Baby M had the chance to experience how cold his little toes and hands can get.It was a good activity for both kids to experience together and just learn a little bit more about our senses.

Nos la pasamos bien, sintiendo el hielo (nos vino de maravilla porque estaba hizo una calor muy fuerte por aqui) y a bebe M le dimos la oportunidad de sentir el frio, es un buen ejercicio para trabajar los sentidos. Lo bueno de esta actividad es que pude realizarla con los dos ninos al mismo tiempo.

ohh almost forget bring towels with you..hands get soooooo cold very quick!!

ahhh casi me olvido, lleven toallas tambien ya que las manos se enfriannnnnn muy rapido!!

Experiencing Nature

Explorando la Naturaleza

C and her friends visit an animal farm  " Party Ponies and Friends"days ago. It was such a cool experience for everyone.

We had the chance to feed the goats,ponies,sheep, pigs and ducks.

 

Llevamos a C y unos amigos a conocer la granja de animales " Party Ponies and Frieds"  hace algunos dias. Nos la pasamos super bien, todos desde los mas peques hasta los papas.

Tuvimos la oportunidad de dar de comer a las cabras, ponies,ovejas. cerditos y patos.

For the very first time C shear a sheep

Fue la primera vez que C esquilo a una oveja

They used the wool from the sheep to make it into felt

 

C and her friends usaron la lana de esta oveja para convertirla en fibra de fieltro

Mrs. Amanda, her aunt  and her wonderful Mom (Montessori Certified Teacher) taught the children  the whole process of wool and felt.

 

La Senora Amanda, su tia y su maravillosa madre (quien es una profesora certificada en el Metodo Montessori) ensenaron a las ninos como seguir el proceso de lana y fieltro.

We all thought it was neat

Of course they also have a fun playground on their big yard  and C loved it!

Y por supuesto en esta granja tambien  tienen un set de columpios y juegos genial..C se la paso de maravilla!

oh yeah! And we milked a goat..I have to say it is not easy as it looks, after that I tried goat's milk and it was good!

Oh y tambien ordeñamos una cabra, que les dire no es tan facil como parece..se debe mucha paciencia y tiempo mis amigos.

We went camping days ago and we are looking to spend as much time doing outdoor as we can, you may be asking?..aren't you 8 months pregnant? You must be out of your mind! The answers is...YES folks, I am!


Fuimos a acampar hace unos dias, y estamos planeando hacerlo seguido como de costumbre, salir a disfrutar del aire libre es lo mejor que la naturaleza puede ofrecernos, pero solo hay que pagar un precio "las picaduras de mosquitos" nada mas senores! No es un precio tan caro..verdad?
Me imagino que se estan preguntando..pero tu a acampar..si llevas 8 meses de embarazo? te volviste loca? Mi respuesta es : SI amigos, estoy loca!

Kids Camping Day At Our Backyard

Dia de Acampar con Amiguitos en Nuestro Jardin

Last week I was on camping fever so I organized a Camping Day at our house for C and her friends...Huge hit! Everyone had lots of fun.

I made a simple sign "Welcome to Camp" using colors and paper and hang it up at our fence door.

 

La semana pasada estuve con el bichito de acampar, asi que se me ocurrio la idea de organizar un ida de acampada en nuestro jardin de la casa y nada mejor que invitar a los amigos de C. Fue la bomba! Todos hasta los mas pequenitos se la pasaron super bien.Colgue un letrero en la reja que decia "Bienvenidos al campamento"

I also made  felt banners that go all around our backyard, I used different colors of felt stitched to ribbon. (I use my sewing machine..way faster) It looked very colorful and made a difference.

Tambien utilize mi maquina de coser para hacer banderetas de fieltro, use diferentes colores, le trajo color y alegria a nuestro dia...como que le dio otra cara a nuestras rejas del jardin, coloque las banderetas alrededor de todas las rejas.

 

Of course we had tents out for little campers to take a nap if they need to...And most of them did!! Each child brought his own sleeping bag.

Y por supuesto tuvimos tiendas de acampar para los pequenos que quieran tomar unas siesta o simplemente jugar en estas.Cada nene trajo su bolsa de dormir.

We set up some activities like, painting and coloring sheets with our theme "camping" I printed from here

Pusimos mesas de actividades para colorear y pintar relacionadas con el  tema de "acampar" las impimi de aqui

My husband made this pumpkin bean bag board for the last Halloween but we decided could be fun to use it in our camping day too, instead of bean bags (I cant remember where I put them) we use some colorful balls.

Mi esposo hizo este juego de la calabaza el Halloween pasado y tambien decidimos incorporarlo como otro de los juegos para este dia, en vez de saquitos de frejoles usamos pelotas.

Each kid had the chance to roast his/her own hot dog and marshmallows.

-We also play water balloons, Simon says and play in the swing set. What a great day!!

Cada uno de los ninos cocino su propio hot-dog en la parrillita y tambien tuvivmos malvabiscos.

Tambien jugamos con globos de agua, Simon dice y jugamos en los comlumpios. Pero si la pasamos bien!

 

Wool for Birds

Lana para los Pajaritos

So inspired for this post, we started a tradition on one of the trees from our backyard,to help our local birds to build their nests we put some fiber wool on the tree branches. We used different colors to bring joy and happiness to our tree.

Inspirada por este post , hemos empezado una tradicion con uno de los arboles de nuestro jardin, esto es para ayudar a los pajaritos a construir su nido, simplemente amarramos fibra de lana al arbol.Usamos diferentes colores para poder decorar el arbol.

Blueberry Festival

Festival de Moras



Last weekend we went to the blueberry festival in our town, it was so much fun! In this house we love to have blueberries in our diet , at least C and me, daddy not too much, but this was the perfect occasion to show C where the blueberries come from.

El fin de semana pasado fuimos al festival  de amoras en nuestra ciudad, fue tan divertido! En esta casa nos encanta comer moras , al menos C y yo, papá, no mucho,  esta era la ocasión perfecta para mostrar  a C, de donde  provienen las moras.

They offered a free ride on the ski  lifts chairs to get to the top of the mountain where the blueberrie's trees are. I have to admit I used love getting in these chairs when I was younger and used to ski BUT now I was terrified having my three year old sitting in this chair with me , she kept moving and asked " mommy this is cool, can I jump?" My husband and I were so nervous, It's a funny feeling when you don't have the control of the situation. Next time we will walk to the top!!

Ofrecieron un viaje gratis en las sillas de ascensores para llegar a la cima de la montaña, donde estan  los árboles de moras. Tengo que admitir que me encantaba utilizar estas sillas cuando era más joven y solia esquiar.Pero en esta ocasion  me aterraba tener a mi nina de  tres años , sentada en esta silla, C queria moverse como cualquier nina de su edad inquieta,  tambien  me preguntó: "Mamá esto es genial, ¿puedo saltar de esta silla hacia abajo? "Mi marido y yo estábamos super nerviosos. Es una sensación extraña cuando usted no tiene el control de la situación. La próxima vez caminaremos  a la cima!

Once we got to  stand on ground I was so happy! We started to pick yummy blueberries, C was picking and eating them at the same time..so funny! She eat so many blueberries that day.


Una vez que llegamos a pisar  tierra, me puse  tan feliz! Empezamos a recoger moras , C estaba recogiendo y comiendolas  al mismo tiempo . Esta nina comio muchas pero muchas moras ese dia.

These are our blueberries we got to take home!! Believe me we worked for them : )

Our shoes ended looking like this, dirty, wet and muddy and I love it!


Nuestros zapatos terminaron  con este aspecto, sucios, húmedos y fangosos, genial!

Here, C is  drinking a yummy blueberry lemonade at the fair...so good!

Aqui, C esta bebiendo una limonada de moras en la feria..refrescante y delicioso!

Yummy Treats for Birds

Bocadillos Deliciosos para los Pajaritos

C was so excited to make some treats for the birds, it was such an easy project that we all enjoy.It is a nice way to tell our birds thank you for delight us with their singing and their existence.

 

C estuvo muy emocionado de hacer preparar estas delicias especiales para los pájaritos, fue un proyecto fácil que todos disfrutamos.Es una buena manera de decirle a nuestras aves gracias por deleitarnos con su canto y su existentencia.

You will need:

Slices of orange
Peanut butter
Bird food
Yarn

Usted necesitará: 

Rodajas de naranja
 Manteca de mani

Alimento para pajaritos

Hilo

Cut your yarn for the hanging loops, make a knot thru the orange.

 

Corta el hilo para colgar los lazos, puedes amarrar la lana a través de la naranja.

Spread peanut butter on the slice of orange

 Unte mantequilla de maní en la rodaja de naranja

Sprinkle some bird food onto the slice of orange. Then put in the freezer for couple of hours this way the bird food will stick better  to the peanut butter.

Espolvoree un poco de alimento de aves en la rodaja de naranja.A continuación, poner en el congelador por un par de horas para hacer que el alimento de

 las aves  se adhieren a la mantequilla de maní.

Hang it up where  the birds can enjoy their treats. We made five of them and they are all over the backyard.

 

A continuación, colgar, donde las aves puedan disfrutar de sus delicias. Preparamos cinco de estas delicias y las colgamos en los arboles de nuestro jardin.

The birds are really enjoying our treats, too bad I didn't have a camera handy whenever we saw the birds eating from our treats.

 

Las aves realmente disfrutan de nuestras golosinas, lástima que no tenía la camara  a mano cuando vimos las aves que se alimentan de nuestras delicias.
