Crayolas en forma de arbol de Navidad

This is a fun and easy activity that you can do with your child following the Christmas spirit.

Esta es una actividad muy sencilla y divertida que puedes hacer con tus ninos siguiendo con las celebraciones por la Navidad.

First select the colors of crayons you want to use and sort them.

Primero selecciona los colores que quieres usar

Then peel the paper off from the crayons

Luego pela el papel de la crayola

Then brake them in small pieces and put them inside your tree silicone shapes (I bought this set at target the last year in 90% sale after Christmas was over)

Luego rompe las crayolas en trozos pequenos y colocalos en tus arboles de silicona (yo compre estos en target el anio pasado por 90% de oferta ,despues de las fiestas Navidenas)

Put them in your oven for 265 degrees for 20-25 minutes long, until it the wax melts completely. Get your molds out from the oven and let them cool for about 30 minutes or so.

Ingresa tus arboles al horno a temperatura de 265 grados por aproximadamente 20-25 minutos, hasta que la cera este completamente derretida. Retira tus moldes del horno y dejalos enfriar por aproximadamente 30 minutos.

Get the trees out from your molds gently if you break (just like I did) just put them inside the oven again.

Retira las crayolas de los moldes de manera delicada, pero si llegas a romper algunos (como yo lo hize), simplemente ponlos dentro del horno otra vez.

 

You can use these cool crayons as stocking gifts as well or as gifts for your child's friends too.

Playdough Fun Box

This playdough box is very easy to put together and the best part of it, you can take it anywhere with you around the house or to a friend's house to play and share.

Esta caja con plastilina es muy facil de armar, lo mejor de todo es que la puedes llevar a donde quieras y hasta la casa de la amiguita para que los nenes compartan y se la pasen bien jugando.


                                       

This is not my original idea, I was inspired by this post and I knew right away that I had to give it a try.
We made some green, yellow and red homemade playdough , put some beads, cookie cutters and bought this box container at Target for $3.

Esta no fue una idea mia, vi esta entrada en este  blog y supe que tenia que interntarlo, porque es una manera muy facil de mantener la plastilina fresca y al alcanze de C.
Hicimos plastilina verde,amarilla y roja usando esta receta casera ,pusimos cuentas de diferentes colores y formas,cortadores de galletas y compre esta caja en Target por $3.

Give the box to your child and let the fun start...

Una vez que la caja este lista simplemente se la das a tu nene y deja que la diversion comienze..

Our Christmas Count Down Calendar

Calendario de Conteo para la Navidad

 

 

Remember our last year's Christmas  count down calendar? Well I bought some Christmas fabric last year on 80% sale and I thought I could make some little fabric bags and use them as our count down calendar for this year.

Recuerdan el calendario de conteo para la Navidad del anio pasado? Bueno compre tela de Navidad en oferta al termino del 2011 asi que esta era la ocasion perfecta para usarla, hize unas bolsitas para nuestro conteo de Navidad de este anio.

Since we don't have a fireplace to hang them up we are using one of the shelves that hold my material in our classroom.C likes the idea.

En casa no tenemos una chimenea para poer colgar nuestras bolsitas pero hemos usado uno de mis estantes que sirven para sostener mi material de clase en nuestro salon, a C le encanta la idea.

Every morning she gets up from bed and asks if she can open one bag, she gets so excited when I say yes!

Cada manana C se levanta de su cama preguntando si puede abrir una bolsita y cuando le digo si...corre corre a ver que le tocara hoy.

About the bags:
- Our bags are small size 4.5 x 6 inches.
- I used red ribbon as a lace
-You can find several tutorials online about how to make a fabric bag.
-I cut off some numbers from felt and use hot glue to glue them in each bag.
-I put inside each bag only one thing, (stickers,sea shells, acorns,pencils, book marks..etc).


Acerca de mis bolsas:
-Mis bolsitas son pequenas miden 4.5 x 6 pulgadas.
-Use cinta roja como cordon
-Usted puede buscar en el internet tutoriales de como hacer bolsas de tela (hay varios)
-Dibuje numeros en fieltro de color blanco y los peque con goma caliente en cada bolsita.
-Dentro de cada bolsita puse solo una cosa, algo pequenito por se que a cualquier nino le agrada la idea de encontrar algo.por ejemplo, pegatines,lapices,marcadores,conchitas,bellotas..etc)

 

 

Winter Sensory Bin

Caja Sensorial de Invierno

 

 

This sensory bin is theme "Winter" in Alaska we have an early winter and some snow by now, and of course every child I know loves to play with snow!
What is inside the bin:
- Christmas ornaments from target
-a spoon
-a cup
-plastic tree toys
-snow
-drops of food coloring


Esta caja sensorial es dedicada al Invierno, en Alaska el invierno ya llego (hace 3 meses) eso quiere decir que tenemos nieve y mucho frio, pero como se que a todo nino que conozco le encanta jugar en la nieve, supe que a C le encantaria una caja sensorial  con nieve .Fue muy simple de armarla.
Que lleva adentro:
-Adornos de Navidad de la tienda Target
-una cuchara
-una taza
-arboles de plastico
-nieve
-y gotas de colorante de comida

And of course baby M needed to experience the sensory part of this bin , how cold is the snow, he seemed very interested on feeling the snow with his toes and big sister was so excited to be part of it.


Y por supuesto que nuestro bebe M se une a la experiencia sensorial, probando la nieve en sus pequenos pies, el se mostraba muy interesado y hasta feliz. Y la hermana mayor C estaba muy emocionada de ayudar a su hermanito.

A Handmade Christmas Present

Un Regalo para Navidad Hecho a Mano

You are probably asking yourself...Christmas but we are October?? Well my dear friends Yes! We are already planning presents for Christmas, why? Because these are handmade and like you must know they take weeks to get them done and we need time ahead to work on them.
Daddy made this wonderful wooden alphabet for C, I am so in love with this work, daddy put so much effort and time on making this letters for his little girl.
I believe each letter take him over 2  hours to make, trace it, cut and sand it! I know you are already making numbers in your head eh?? it makes a total of so many hours!!

Me imagino que te estas preguntando regalos para Navidad, pero si es Octubre? Bueno SI mis amigos!Lo que pasa es que hemos hecho una lista con tres regalos para C y bueno todos son hechos a mano, entonces eso nos llevara un buen tiempo para terminarlos en tiempo.
Papa hizo este bello alfabeto de madera para C, a mi me encanta, papa ah puesto muchas horas de trabajo y esfuerzo en estas letras, pero lo ah hecho con mucho carino para su pequena nina.
Me comento que cada letra le ah llevado 2 horas terminarla, trazarla en la madera, cortarla y pulirla!!Si, hace un total de muchisimas horas!

Once he finished and while C was sleeping , we start playing with them, YES two grown ups, we just couldn't resist!!

Cuando el termino la ultima letra, y C estaba durmiendo, nosotros nos pusimos a jugar con estas, si imaginate dos adultos jugando con el abecedario...pero estas irresistibles!

 



The are about 2  inches width and 5 1/2 inches tall. Daddy had already all the tools to make this project, this time we spent $7. on a long piece of wood.
You remember the fabric alphabet I made some months ago, well we used the same patterns you can print them from this site, after you print them , cut each letter and then trace them on wood, then ask your husband to do the rest : )

Estas tienen un ancho de 2 pulgadas y de alto un promedio de 5 pulgadas y 1/2.
Mi esposo tenia las herramientas desde hace mucho, asi que solo gastamos en la madera que nos costo $7. y aun nos queda algo.
Recuerdan el abecedario de tela que hize hace muchos meses atras, bueno seguimos el mismo patron, el cual lo pueden imprimir de este sitio, luego de imprimir las letras, las cortan y las trazan en la madera y le piden al esposo que haga el resto : )



 

We can even build letters towers with them...love it!and I know C will like them too.

Incluso podemos construir torres de letras con estas ... me encantan! Y se que a C tambien le gustaran mucho.

I put the letters inside a fabric bag and hide them for Christmas Time.

I have to admit that my husband is enjoying working on wood as much as I love sewing and crafting, we never knew we could create things, but I think C taught us how.

Puse las letras dentro de una bolsa de tela y las escondi muy bien hasta la epoca de Navidad.
 Pero quiero dar un AGRADECIMIENTO ESPECIAL A PAPA!
Tengo que admitir que mi esposo está disfrutando deL trabajo de la madera tanto como  a mi me encanta la costura y la artesanía, no sabíamos que podíamos crear cosas, pero creo que gracias al amor que le tenemos a C nos nace crear para ella.

Felt Eggs

Huevos en Fieltro

Here are couple of activities I prepared for C as part of our April Easter Activities. This eggs quantities are very simple to make, I follow this idea from one of my posts in February. You just need to cut the shape of an egg in felt of different colors and then cut them in half and paint the numbers and the dots with fabric paint.

 Aqui les presento dos actividaes que prepare para C como parte de las Actividades de Abril. Los huevos quantitativos son muy simples de hacer, copie la misma idea que presente  en Febrero de corazones . Solo se cortan formas de huevo en fieltro de diferentes colores, se cortan por la mitad y pintan los numeros y puntos usando pintura en tela.

I made  felt eggs from 1-20..but I am just presenting 10 at the time.
Hice huevos de fieltro del 1-20..pero solo presento 10 a la hora.

MATCHING COLORS USING VELCRO TAPE / Emparejar huevos por color usando cinta velcro

These are felt eggs, I used Velcro tape for C to put them together.

Estos son huevos hechos a la mitad , hechos de fieltro rellenos de algodon de peluche, y para unirlos  puse cinta velcro.

Birthday Banner Tutorial

Guirlanda de Cumpleanos - Tutoria

It is difficult to believe that my girl is 3 years old now!!She had  a rainbow theme party days ago, good thing I finished making all her stuff before I got the sad new about my grandmother.
She wanted  rainbow colors on everything so I tried to do my best to make her wish come true : ) (that is my job eh).
You will need : Felt, fiber felt, fabric and a sewing machine...but you also can sew by hand.

First, Cut triangles out of your  felt. I cut out 16: one for each letter in “Feliz Cumpleanos”. My triangles are about 8” wide and 10” long.

Es difícil creer que mi hija tiene 3 años ! Ell tuvo  una fiesta hace pocos dias con decoraciones del arco iris, lo bueno fue que termine de hacer todas las cosas antes de que llegara la noticia triste acerca de  mi abuela.

Usted necesitará: fieltro, fibra de fieltro, tela y una máquina de coser ... pero también se puede coser a mano.
En primer lugar, recorte triangulos de fieltro a la medida que usted guste.Yo corté 16de ellos: uno para cada letra de "Feliz Cumpleaños". La medida de mis triangulos fueron  de 20 cm de ancho y 25 cm de largo.

2.  I used word to make the letters, print them, cut them out and then trace them in the triangles of felt using a pencil..Sorry it is hard to see the letter traced in the red felt (picture below).

Use el programa de word en la computadora para hacer las letras, las imprimi,las corte y traze cada letra en cada triangulo usando un lapiz de madera. Lo siento en la foto de abajo no se aprecia el trazado de la letra en lapiz.

3. Start needle  felting inside each letter traced in the triangle of felt.

 

   Comienza el proceso de aguja y fibra de fieltro dentro de cada letra trazada con el lapiz.

A very colorful project...I like it!This is a picture of my little desk working while C was sleeping.

Fue un proyecto muy colorido..me gusto!Esta es la foto de mi escritorio con todo mi material, aproveche en hacer este proyecto mientras que C  estaba durmiendo.

4. I am in love with this rainbow fabric I found at JoAnn  Fabric. I use it to make the strip that will hold the triangles to make the banner.

Cuando fui a la tienda de tela JoAnn Fabric y vi esta tela me enamore de ella!y pense que era perfecta para usarla en mis proyectos de Cumpleanos. Use esta en varios proyectos que les ensenare durante esta semana. Bueno corte tres tiras largas de esta para usar el lazo en los que los triangulos colgarian.

5. Cut the fabric in long stripes, start ironing with the side where you can see the folds face up..

Corte la tela en tres tiras largas, las doble por la mitas y las planche.

Lay out the triangles in order, sew the top edges to the ribbon (rainbow fabric).

Luego colocas los triangulos en orden, coloca uno por uno en medio de la cinta de colores que hicimos y empieza a coser.

This was my favorite part...putting the pieces together!!

Esta fue mi parte favorita..poner todas las partes juntas y ver el resultado.!

My husband keep telling me that this banner is the coolest thing ever!! : ) I hope C liked too.

Mi esposo me dijo que esta guirlanda es su favorita!! : ) Espero que a C le haya gustado de igual manera.

I want  to thank to all of you for your kind comments and support after my grandmother's dead. I don't think this deep pain will go away anytime soon but I need to keep going ...right? THANK YOU MY FRIENDS!!Your comments helped me a lot.

Valentine's Belt

Correa de San Valentin

I wanted  C to have  an activity using Velcro to help develop her fingers  strengthening, so I thought on making this heart valentine's belt using felt., very easy to make sewing by hand.

I use a long strip of felt and add some Velcro to it and a button to buckle the belt. I also made 9 felt hearts in three different colors (3 red,3 pink and 3 fuchsia) and add Velcro on the back.
I made them in different colors to work pattern of  sequence. I can do the pattern red,pink,fuchsia and then she needs to follow..etc.

Yo queria  hacer una actividad  con cinta velcro o pega pega para que C desarrolle un poco mas los musculos de los dedos, entonces pense en hacer una correa de corazones, fue muy facil de hacer a mano.

Use una tira larga de fieltro rojo, puse cuadrados pequenos de velcro (9) y anadi un boton en un extremo para poder asegurarlo en la cintura.Luego hice  9 corazones en fieltro (3 rosados,3 rojos y 3 fucsia), de esta manera puedo trabajar con ella secuencia de colores, yo puedo poner los tres primeros corazones en la correa puede ser uno rojo uno rosado y uno fucsia y ella seguira este patron para poder colocar los corazones en la correa con ayuda del velcro.

Once she is done she loves wearing it!! Here she is showing up her belt and working on her February Sensory Bin..(two big hits for her).

Cuando termina de poner los corazones en la correa de fieltro, le encanta ponerselo!! En esta foto lo muestra mientras ella esta entretenida con so caja sensorial...(dos grandes exitos).

A gingerbread house..She loved it! I bought this one last year after Christmas on sale for $2.

Una casa del muneco de jengibre...le encanto!! Compre este set  el año pasado despues de las Navidades por $2.
