Rainbow Felted Bracelet TUTORIAL

Pulsera de Fibra de Fieltro de Colores-TUTORIA

We were in our crafty mood last weekend and made some projects, this cool bracelet is one of these.

C liked it so much that she wears it everywhere and tells everybody about her rainbow bracelet.

El fin de semana pasado estabamos con muchas ganas de hacer manualidades , este colorido brazalete es uno de ellos. A mi C le gusto tanto que no s elo quita para nada y les dice a todos que ella hizo este brazalete de arco iris.

You will need some wool fiber, hot / cold water, hand soap, thread, a needle and a beautiful child with lots of energy to help.

Para hacer uno, necesitaran: fibra de lana,agua caliente/ fria, jabon de manos, hilo, aguja y un nene o nena con muchas ganas de ayudar.

Start getting a small piece of fiber, just pulling gentle from one end of your roll of fiber

Empieze con un pequeno pedazo de fibra, simplemente jale de manera delicada de uno de los extremos.

Then  roll it from one end to the other end making a ball (sorry for the colorful hands, we made play dough  earlier that day...our hands got stained : )

Luego enrolla el pedazo de un extremo hasta el otro extremo, haciendo una bola (mis manos estan manchadas de colores porque hicimos plastilina ese mismo dia mas temprano : )

Now you can put some hot water and soap to start the process of felting  and start rubbing gentle with your fingers

Ahora coloca agua caliente y jabon para empezar el poceso de unir la fibra , empieza masajaeando de manera gentil.

Once  you are done, rinse the little ball with cold water to end the process of felting.

Una vez terminado el proceso, enjuaga la bolita con agua fria.

Once you finish to make all the balls you need  for your bracelet, get the thread and the needle ready to use.

Cuando termines de hacer todas las bolitas que necesitas para tu brazalete, usaras la aguja y el hilo para unirlas.

Start threading the balls with the needle

Empieza a pasar las bolitas por la aguja.

Just like C, believe me, I was more than impressed with the way she handled the needle, she didn't need help AT ALL! My goodness, sometimes I admire the courage children have to do simple things that grown ups are afraid to do.

Asi como C, creanme que yo estaba  más que impresionada con la forma en que maneja la aguja, no necesito ayuda en lo absoluto! A veces admiro el coraje que  los niños tienen para  hacer estas cosas simples que hasta  nosotros los adultos tenemos miedo de hacerlas.

Now you can tie it around your wrist and show everybody you own creation...just made for you!

Ahora  puede atar la pulsera alrededor de su muñeca y mostrarle a todos esta
creacion hecha especialmente para ti!

I posted about our Art Activities yesterday but I forgot to add this set of stickers I got from Amazon, I think these are very cool and useful for different themes. I am planning to make some cards using these stickers with cards and sticks for C to use them in games.

He planeado usar palitos y cartulina para hacer cartelitos con estas pegaminas.

En nuestros Estantes-Agosto/ Actividades Practicas

Our theme of the months is Construction, here are some activities related with the theme but not all of them are.

Nuestro tema del mes es la construccion, aqui estan algunas de las actividades relacionadas con el tema y otras no.

Spooning exercise, I bought these cute construction vehicles buttons at Michaels Craft Store.

Uso de la cuchara, compre estos pequenos botones de maquinaria pesada en Michaels.

Use of keys, only one of these keys opens the locker. This activity is a challenge for C, she doesn't seem interested on it for now but I needed to give it a try.


Usando llaves, solo una des eatas dos llaves abre el candado. Esta actividad es unreto para C, ella no se muestra muy interesada en la actividad pero al menos tenia que intentarlo.

Volts and nuts

Voltios

Pouring water, there is a sponge to clean the spill and the small towel to dry your hands after clean up the spell (in case it happens).


Vertiendo agua, en la bandeja tenemos una esponja para secar en caso C derrame agua y una pequena toalla para secar  las manos.

Transferring  screws from one bowl to the other.


Transfiriendo  tornillos de un plato a otro.

Sharpening a pencil, when I saw this pencil sharpener at Michaels I had to buy it..it looks so cute! but I wish it could be a little more easier to work with, it is a little bit tricky but C likes it. The little brush is to buff the pencil after it had been sharper.


Usando un sacapuntas de lapiz, compre este sacapuntas en la tienda Michaels, la pequena brocha es para desempolvar el lapiz una vez  que tenga punta.

Mirror polishing, we have a mat for the table, a container of water, a q-tip to deep gently on the water and then use it to lean the mirror , a cotton ball to polish the mirror after got wet with the q-tip and a small towel to dry our hands. I got this idea from Discovery Days and Montessori Moments.


Pulido de espejo, en esta bandeja tenemos un tapete de mesa, un embase para el agua, un q-tip para usarlo en el agua y luego nos sirva para mojar el espejo y la bolita d ealgodon es para secar el espejo despues de haber usando el q-tip, la pequena toalla es para secar las manos despues de haber terminado con la actividad. Esta ide la encontre en Discovery Days and Montessori Moments.

Hammering exercise, I bought this small-light weight hammer at Lowes.


Actividad de martillo, compre este martillo en la tienda Lowes, es un martillo con peso muy liviano especialmente para el uso de los ninos.

Using a hanger, First I put a t-shirt on the tray, but it seemed that C wanted to choose this activity more than once, until I put a dress instead of the shirt and now seems like this tray got C's attention  more often.


Usando un percha, primero puse una camiseta para hacer esta actividad pero pareciera que a C no mostraba mucho interes en esta actividad, entonces puse un vestido y C ahora muestra mas interes.

My husband made this wonderful Hex bolt board for C. Before I add the nut driver  to this activity I  want to let her use her hands first.


Mi esposo hizo esta tabla de pernos hexagonal para C. Antes de que anada el destornillador a esta actividad ,deseo que C use sus manos.

And of course helping mommy to cook. (she is peeling cucumbers for the salad after she had a bath), I just appreciate so much all the work she does with my at the kitchen, she just enjoys cooking!! and tells her dad" daddy I cooked dinner for you, it is delicious" so sweet, got to love this girl : )

Y, por supuesto, ayudar a mamá a cocinar. (en la foto  C esta pelando pepinos para la ensalada), yo aprecio mucho toda la ayuda que C me da en la cocina! apenas la cena esta lista, ella le dice a su papa  "papa hize la cena para ti,tienes que probar,esta delicioso" no es un amor? adoro a esta nina!!

En Nuestros Estantes- Agosto/ Arte

Watercolor Paint, I put on the tray paint,paper,a jar to put the brush, a jar with water and a small rag to dry the brush (This is one of C's favorite activities).

Pintura de acuarela, puse en la bandeja papel, pintura, un frasco pequeno para colocar el pincel, un frasco para el agua y un trapo para secar el pincel.(Esta es una de las actividades favoritas de C).

Fun tray, I put on the tray scrapbooking paper from different colors and sizes, crayons,markers, dot a dot art marker,small squares of tissue paper, small pieces of felt on diferent colors ( left over felt from the different projects I do from felt) and glue.

 

 Bandeja divertida, puse en la bandeja  papel de scrapbooking de diferentes colores y tamaños,crayolas, marcadores, un marcador de punto de punto de arte, pequeños cuadrados de papel de seda, pequeños trozos de fieltro de diferentes colores (sobras de fieltro de los projectos que hago) y pegamento.

Cutting Activity, I printed these cute construccion vehicles from two little seeds. (I don't know why I can't get this picture straight).

Actividad de cortar, imprimí estas figuras de  vehículos de construccion muy monos de  two little seeds. (No sé por qué no puedo obtener esta fotorecta en la posicion adecuada).

I usually do one post of our activities from the month, but I need to change that, It takes so much time to post all the pictures in one post (besides I do bilingual post..take me longer to write).
From now on I will do on our shelves post for areas. Each post a day.
This month theme is Construction, most of the activities are not related with theme but some are.

Usualmente hago un post acerca de nuestras actividades de los estantes del mes, pero eh decidido cambiar ese metodo ya que me lleva muchisimo tiempo postearlo, por todas las fotos y los dos idiomas, mas practico seria que haga un post de cada area por dia y eso es lo que hare desde hoy.
El tema del mes es La Construccion, casi todas la actividades tienen relacion con este tema, pero hay unas que no.

This is a Boggle Jr. game, this game is so much fun, it comes with 30 picture-word-cards (60 pictures). These are 3-4 letter words and 8 letter's cubes.
I bought them at the Second hand store for $1.( I know, I am a lucky girl eh)


Este es un juego que se llama  Boggle Jr., este juego es super divertido, trae 30 tarjetas (60 figuras con nombres), estas tarjetas son de 3-4 letras en cada palabra y tambien trae 8 cubos de letras.
Este juego lo compre en la tienda de segundo uso por $1. (que suerte verdad?)

Felt Car Activity Mat

As most of you know our theme of the month is Construction, I was searching online for ideas on how to make a felt car mat until  I found this great tutorial, mine is not near as cool as hers but I tried : ) it took me about two afternoons to finish it but it is worth it, C loves it!! She kept asking "mommy are you done, are you done, I want to play with this mat".

Muchos de ustedes saben que nuestro tema del mes es La Construccion, estuve buscando en internet un tutorial de como hacer un tapete de felt para autos y encontre este que esta buenisimo, mi tapete no esta tan genial como el de ella, pero lo intente : ) me tomo casi dos tardes terminarlo pero valio la pena porque a C le parece genial la idea, mientras que hacia este tapete , ella me preguntaba"mama cuando lo termines puedo jugar".

My total spent was $10 buying green, red and black felt. I had extra felt for the rest of the colors. You can buy felt at the craft store I will recomend Joanns Fabric Store.
You can see the brown house with the white car ,the trees and the flowers, that one is our house..so cute!

Gaste en total $10 comprando fieltro de color negro,verde y rojo. Los otros colores ya los tenia. Usted puede comprar fieltro en la tienda de teals o manualidades , yo recomiendo la tienda Joanns.
Puede ver en el tapete la casita cafe, con el coche blanco,los arboles y las flores, pues esa en nuestra casa ..linda no?
