March Sensory Bin

Caja Sensorial de Marzo

Our theme for March is rainbow colors, Our winter here is very white..lots of cool snow but I miss to see more colors. I think I like this sensory bin more than C does : (  She plays with it not as much as she did with our February sensory bin....but we will see next week she may get more interested on it.

Nuestro tema de Marzo es colores del arco iris, el invierno aqui es muy blanco...mucha nieve, extrano ver mas colores. Es por eso que pense en hacer esta caja sensorial con diversidad de colores, creo que la mas entusiasmada con esta caja soy yo..porque a C no la veo jugar con ella tanto como jugaba con nuestra caja sensorial de Febrero ....pero tal vez la proxima semana crea mas interes en ella.

For this bin I used : different kinds of pasta ( I went to the cheapest grocery store to buy the cheapest pasta).

Para esta caja sensorial utilize pasta( fui al supermercado mas barato y compre la pasta mas barata que encontre).

Supplies for Colored Pasta/  Materiales para tenir la pasta
1. food coloring / colorante de alimentos2. dried pasta (any kind)/pasta3. rubbing alcohol/ alcohol4. ziploc bags/ bolsas con selladura

Directions/Instrucciones :
1. place noodles in ziploc bag./ coloque los fideos en una bolsa Ziploc.2. completely cover the noodles with rubbing alcohol/ cubrir completamente los fideos con alcohol3. mix in food coloring/ anada y mezcle con el colorante de alimentos4. let the noodles sit to absorb color (the longer they sit, the deeper the color.)   /dejar que los fideos se sientan para absorber el color (cuanto más tiempo se sientan, más profundo es el color). 5. once desired color is reached, drain liquid (do not rinse) and dry noodles on old newspaper/ una vez que obtenga el color deseado, escurra el liquido  (no enjuague) y coloque los fideos a secar en periodicos.

I made these bean felt bags for C...we've  been having fun with our shape bean bags I made some months ago, I think these new bags will go better for our Rainbow theme.

Hice estas bolsas de  fieltro de  frijoles para C..Ultimamente hemos estado jugando con las   bolsas en formas geometricas que hice meses atras, pense que estas nuevas bolsas serian mas utiles para nuestro tema de colores.

I add a button to each bag to make it a little bit more interesting, I also made some felt flower of each color for C to practice her buttoning.

Anadi un boton a cada bolsita para hacerlas un poco mas interesantes, tambien hice flores de fieltro de cada color para que C practique el usar botones.

Rainbow Birthday

Fiesta con Tema de Arco Iris

 I also also made this Birthday Crown for C with the rainbow theme...I have to say that made this crown with lots of love and dedication. I follow couple of tutorial here and here  .they were really helpful!

Hice esta corona de cumpleanos para C siguiendo el tema de arco iris..Puse mucha dedicacion y sobre todo amor en hacerla. Segui algunos pasos de este blog  y de este otro . Me sirvieron de mucha ayuda.

 Daddy made this gorgeous birthday girl for his little girl....It took him at least 3 hours to make this one..
I love it!

Papa hizo este hermoso aro de cumpleanos para su pequena C..le tomo mas de 3 horas en hacerlo..Me encanto!

This is her Birthday Girl outfit..I bought a white t-shirt from the store and stitch the number three using the rainbow fabric I used for her birthday banner. Well she loves dancing so I thought she will  love a rainbow tutu..I tried to look online for a tutorial but I couldn't find any...so I had to use my little imagination and create one!

Este es su traje de cumpleanos, compre una camiseta blanca de la tienda , le hice unas puntadas formando el numero tres utilizando la tela de los colores del arco iris que tambien utilize para su  guirlanda de cumpleanos. A mi C le encanta bailar asi que pense que seria buena idea hacerle un tutu, no encontre ningun tutorial para este asi que tuve que utilizar mi ingenio!

C and her friends had some activities prepared,  dot painting(rainbows), they also made nice necklaces and they play put the tail on the donkey...

C y sus amigos tuvieron actividades preparadas como pintando con pintura de puntos  un arco iris, hicieron collares, jugaron ponle la cola al burro..

I think their favorite part was the pinata!
C wanted a dinosaur pinata fro her rainbow party....yeah I know..Dinosaur pinata in a rainbow party?? : )

Pero su parte favorita fue la pinata!
C pidio una pinata de dinosaurio azul para su fiesta...si ya se! Que hace un dinosaurio azul en una fiesta de arco iris?? : )

We had a wonderful day..with beautiful people. I know C had a great time, It is very difficult to believe that C is already 3 years old..she used to be such a little baby and now she is a BIG GIRL.but for me she always always always will be a baby girl! I love you with all my heart and more..

Tuvimos un día maravilloso .. con gente hermosa. Sé que C la paso  muy bien, es muy difícil  creer que C ya tiene 3 años de edad .. que solía ser una pequeña bebé y ahora ella dice que es una NINA GRANDE pero  para mí siempre, siempre, siempre será mi bebita! Te amo con todo mi corazón y más..

Aro de Arco Iris hecho en Fieltro

I made this wreath  for our front door for C's birthday..it was a big hit..everybody like it.

Hice este aro de puerta para el cumpleanos de C..fue un detalle muy bonito..a todos les gusto.

I used an old wire coat hanger bent into a circle wreath shape (you could bend it into any shape you may like) and a whole lot of felt  in  rainbow of colors. I cut the felt in small squares and push them in the hanger..Very easy and affordable.

He utilizado un viejo colgador de  alambre doblado en forma  circular (se puede doblar en cualquier forma que usted guste) y un montón de fieltro de colores de arco iris. Corté el fieltro  en pequeños cuadrados  y los puse por el centro de cada cuadrado en el alambre(colgador) .. Muy fácil y asequible.

It is an easy project for kids too.

Es un proyecto super facil de hacer para ninos tambien.

Birthday Banner Tutorial

Guirlanda de Cumpleanos - Tutoria

It is difficult to believe that my girl is 3 years old now!!She had  a rainbow theme party days ago, good thing I finished making all her stuff before I got the sad new about my grandmother.
She wanted  rainbow colors on everything so I tried to do my best to make her wish come true : ) (that is my job eh).
You will need : Felt, fiber felt, fabric and a sewing machine...but you also can sew by hand.

First, Cut triangles out of your  felt. I cut out 16: one for each letter in “Feliz Cumpleanos”. My triangles are about 8” wide and 10” long.

Es difícil creer que mi hija tiene 3 años ! Ell tuvo  una fiesta hace pocos dias con decoraciones del arco iris, lo bueno fue que termine de hacer todas las cosas antes de que llegara la noticia triste acerca de  mi abuela.

Usted necesitará: fieltro, fibra de fieltro, tela y una máquina de coser ... pero también se puede coser a mano.
En primer lugar, recorte triangulos de fieltro a la medida que usted guste.Yo corté 16de ellos: uno para cada letra de "Feliz Cumpleaños". La medida de mis triangulos fueron  de 20 cm de ancho y 25 cm de largo.

2.  I used word to make the letters, print them, cut them out and then trace them in the triangles of felt using a pencil..Sorry it is hard to see the letter traced in the red felt (picture below).

Use el programa de word en la computadora para hacer las letras, las imprimi,las corte y traze cada letra en cada triangulo usando un lapiz de madera. Lo siento en la foto de abajo no se aprecia el trazado de la letra en lapiz.

3. Start needle  felting inside each letter traced in the triangle of felt.

 

   Comienza el proceso de aguja y fibra de fieltro dentro de cada letra trazada con el lapiz.

A very colorful project...I like it!This is a picture of my little desk working while C was sleeping.

Fue un proyecto muy colorido..me gusto!Esta es la foto de mi escritorio con todo mi material, aproveche en hacer este proyecto mientras que C  estaba durmiendo.

4. I am in love with this rainbow fabric I found at JoAnn  Fabric. I use it to make the strip that will hold the triangles to make the banner.

Cuando fui a la tienda de tela JoAnn Fabric y vi esta tela me enamore de ella!y pense que era perfecta para usarla en mis proyectos de Cumpleanos. Use esta en varios proyectos que les ensenare durante esta semana. Bueno corte tres tiras largas de esta para usar el lazo en los que los triangulos colgarian.

5. Cut the fabric in long stripes, start ironing with the side where you can see the folds face up..

Corte la tela en tres tiras largas, las doble por la mitas y las planche.

Lay out the triangles in order, sew the top edges to the ribbon (rainbow fabric).

Luego colocas los triangulos en orden, coloca uno por uno en medio de la cinta de colores que hicimos y empieza a coser.

This was my favorite part...putting the pieces together!!

Esta fue mi parte favorita..poner todas las partes juntas y ver el resultado.!

My husband keep telling me that this banner is the coolest thing ever!! : ) I hope C liked too.

Mi esposo me dijo que esta guirlanda es su favorita!! : ) Espero que a C le haya gustado de igual manera.

Hello my friends, I'm having a very difficult time in my life, my beloved grandmother died yesterday! It hurts so much. It seems that part of my life is gone and I can not do anything about it ... I am not  inspired to post anything  about homeschooling for now , I have to get well and live my life, but it is very difficult! I will be out of posting for a while, I need some time to heal.
  I never thought this moment will come .. was very quick and painful at the same time .. my heart feels empty and I don't like it.

  If you have  lost  someone close to you , please tell me how to retrieve, since it seems impossible at this time.

Hola mis amigos, estoy pasando un momento muy difícil en mi vida, mi querida abuela falleció ayer! Me duele tanto,parece que parte de mi vida se ha ido y no puedo hacer nada al respecto ... no estoy inspirada  para publicar todo lo relacionado sobre la educación en el hogar por ahora, tengo que recuperarme y seguir viviendo mi vida, pero es muy difícil ! Voy a estar fuera de mi blog  por un tiempo, necesito algun tiempo para sanar.

Nunca he pensado que este momento llegaria .. fue muy rápido y doloroso a la vez ..siento que mi corazon esta vacio y no puedo llenarlo con nada.
Si usted ha experimentado perder a  alguien tan cercano a usted por favor dígame cómo se recupera, ya que parece imposible en este momento.

This is another science activity we do at least once a week, we use simple stuff we collect from around the house like  plastic spoons,leads,wooden shapes,sticks,small plastic animals,corks..etc. Once we are done we bring a towel and dry every single item we use in this activity.

Esta es otra actividad de ciencia que hacemos al menos una vez a la semana, usamos cosas que recolectamos en la casa por ejemplo,  cucharas de plastico, tapas de botellas ,palitos de madera,corchos de botella,pequenos animales de plastico..etc.Cuando terminamos esta actividad secamos con una toalla cada cosa que usamos en la caja.

All about hearts..

Todo acerca de corazones..

C used to ask me if she can use my pins for her own work ..so I thought on preparing  an activity for her using pins. I made these two hearts of felt and she needs to transfer the pins carefully from the red heart to the pink heart. She liked the idea but I don't think is one of her favorites.

C soplia preguntar si podia usar mis alfileres para su propio trabajo..entonces pense en preparar esta actividad de transferencia de alfileres para este mes.Hice dos corazones de fieltro uno rosado, y uno rojo, ella tiene que transferir los alfileres de un corazon al otro..Le gusto la idea pero no creo que sea una de sus favoritas.

We also did stitching a   heart with my help, she was very excited with this one!You can tell we start really good and following the line but then she decided she wanted long lines  : )

Tambien practicamos puntadas con aguja e hilo en tela, dibuje un corazon en la tela y C tenia que hacer puntadas en la linea dibujada con mi ayuda..Empezamos bien pero luego ella decidio que puntadas largas se veian mejor : )

Another little simple toddler project..Cut a heart from a cereal box and start adding tissue paper with glue.

Otro proyecto super simple para pequenitos es este, corte un corazon de una caja de cereal y pegamos papel cometa.

Snack Time..A delicious peanut butter and jelly sandwich with some decorative sprinkles. Got the idea from here.Smita has lovely ideas.

Hora de el bocadillo.. un delicioso sandwich  de mantequilla de mani con mermelada y unos granitos dulces decorativos.La idea la encontre aqui. Smita tiene ideas muy lindas.

Dot Hearts

Corazones de Puntos

We  made these hearts using coffee filters and dot paint, it is a very easy and  fun activity for little ones. (I also love C's hairband my mom made for her..she looks very cute).Thanks mom!

Hicimos estos corazones usando filtros de cafe y ointura de puntos, es una actividad facil y divertida para los pequenos. (Tambien me encanta la vincha de cabello que mi mama le hizo a C..esta linda)Gracias mami!

Once the hearts are all red dotted we spray some water in them and let them dry.

Cuando los corazones esten pintados, salpicamos agua y los dejamos secar.

I use wool to hang the hearts in our door so C can see it everyday : )

Use lana para colgar los corazones en la pueta, de esa manera C puede ver su obra todos los dias : )

Valentine's Belt

Correa de San Valentin

I wanted  C to have  an activity using Velcro to help develop her fingers  strengthening, so I thought on making this heart valentine's belt using felt., very easy to make sewing by hand.

I use a long strip of felt and add some Velcro to it and a button to buckle the belt. I also made 9 felt hearts in three different colors (3 red,3 pink and 3 fuchsia) and add Velcro on the back.
I made them in different colors to work pattern of  sequence. I can do the pattern red,pink,fuchsia and then she needs to follow..etc.

Yo queria  hacer una actividad  con cinta velcro o pega pega para que C desarrolle un poco mas los musculos de los dedos, entonces pense en hacer una correa de corazones, fue muy facil de hacer a mano.

Use una tira larga de fieltro rojo, puse cuadrados pequenos de velcro (9) y anadi un boton en un extremo para poder asegurarlo en la cintura.Luego hice  9 corazones en fieltro (3 rosados,3 rojos y 3 fucsia), de esta manera puedo trabajar con ella secuencia de colores, yo puedo poner los tres primeros corazones en la correa puede ser uno rojo uno rosado y uno fucsia y ella seguira este patron para poder colocar los corazones en la correa con ayuda del velcro.

Once she is done she loves wearing it!! Here she is showing up her belt and working on her February Sensory Bin..(two big hits for her).

Cuando termina de poner los corazones en la correa de fieltro, le encanta ponerselo!! En esta foto lo muestra mientras ella esta entretenida con so caja sensorial...(dos grandes exitos).

Open and Close basket, this is one of C's favorite  activities, I put this activity in the shelf every month because I know she really loves it.

Canasta de Abrir y Cerrar, esta es una actividad que a C  le gusta mucho, pongo esta actividad en el  armario cada vez porque se cuanto la entretiene.

One of C's favorite activities is stamping..and putting stickers on paper..

Una de las actividades favoritas de C es usar estampas..y poner stickers en papel..nunca se cansa!
