These flowers are very easy to make with kids.

Estas flores son muy faciles de hacer para los ninos.

You will need:

Red and Blue dot a dot art paint.

Coffee Filters

Tape

Wooden sticks or pencils

 

Usted necesitará:
 

Rojo y Azul  pintura de arte de puntos 

 Filtros de café
 Cinta de pegar
Palos de madera o lápices

To make this beautiful flowers we used at the time two coffee filters ( I put a clothespin to keep them together, that way doesn't move while we paint) then we start painting with the dot a dot set.

Para hacer esta actividad usamos dos filtros de cafe a la vez (puse un gancho de ropa para mantenerlos juntos, de esa manera cuando pintas no se mueven) y luego emepezamos a usar el set de arte punto a punto.

Next to start the tie dye process we start spraying some water and then let it dry.It takes maybe 15 minutes or so.

Para empezar el proceso de teñir, salpica agua en los filtros pintados.Y dejalo secar , toma algo de 15 minutos.

Once is dried. Fold each coffee filter like this

Una vez seco dobla cada filtro asi (en forma de abanico)

Keep folding

Use a pair of scissors and cut a curve on top

Con ayuda de las tijeras recorta en forma de curva

 

                            Use tape to attach the flower to the stick (you can also use a pencil).

Use cinta adhesiva para unir la flor a el palito (también puede utilizar un lápiz).

Now you have a wonderful 4th of July flower!! You also can use different colors and make flowers for different occasions.

Ahora tienes una flores de 4 de Julio, pero tambien puedes usar otros colores y hacer flores para diferentes ocasiones.

Beeswax Crayons Tutorial

Crayolas de Cera de Abejas Tutoria

Days ago I made some beeswax crayons for me and C..my goodness it took me like two hours to make these but It was fun, I don't really recommend to make this project with a toddler , because the beeswax could get very hot.

Días atrás hice unas crayolas  de cera de abeja .. Me llevó como dos horas para hacer estas, pero me la pase bien , no  recomiendo hacer este proyecto con un niño pequeño, ya que la cera podría ser muy caliente.

You will need :

1 part beeswax

1 part unscented soap, grated (Glycerin soap works for harder crayons. Commercial bar soaps work for softer ones).

Crayons or paste food coloring (found in the cake decorating aisle)

Ice cubes tray

Vegetable oil

A glass container or an empty soup can

A pot

Usted necesitará:

• 1 parte de cera de abeja
• 1  parte de jabon sin aroma rallado (jabones con glicerina ayudan a que las crayolas sean mas duras).
• Crayolas de colores o colorantes de alimentos  en  pasta(que se encuentra en la sección de decoración de pasteles de la tienda).
 • Bandeja de cubitos de hielo
• Aceite vegetal
• Un recipiente de vidrio o una lata vacía de sopa
• Una olla

Cut a piece of the beeswax with a knife being very careful, because the beeswax is very hard to cut, I recommend before cutting it put it in the microwave for 5 minutes or more to be able to soften the beeswax and make easier to cut it  : )

Corte un pedazo de la cera con un cuchillo con mucho cuidado, porque la cera es muy dura de cortar,  recomiendo que antes de cortar la cera, pongala en el microondas  durante 5 minutos o más para ser capaz de ablandar la cera de abejas y hacer más fácil cortarla : )

Fill the pot with water about halfway up. Boil water in the pot,then place the beeswax in a glass container and place it in the boiling water.

Llene la olla con agua hasta la  mitad. Hierva el agua en la olla luego coloque la cera de abejas en un recipiente de vidrio y colóquelo en el agua hirviendo.

Once the beeswax is melted, add grated soap. Stir until the soap melts and the mixture is smooth.

Una vez que la cera se derrita, agregue el jabón rallado. Revuelva hasta que el jabón se derrita y la mezcla esté suave.

Spray the vegetable oil on the ice cube tray.

This part is the tricky one..you need to act fast! You need to do  one cube at the time, once you pour the  hot mixture in a cube you will need to put a little piece of crayon( any color you want) to be able to give some color to your beeswax mixture. Use a little stick to mix  the little piece of crayon in your beeswax mixture.

You need to be fast because the wax gets cold very fast and we need the crayon to melt in the mixture before that happens.

You can also use paste food coloring instead of crayons.(I don't have any...that is why I used crayons)

Rocíe el aceite vegetal en la bandeja de cubitos de hielo.

Esta parte es la complicada .. es necesario actuar con rapidez! Una vez que se vierte la mezcla caliente en un cubo tenemos que poner un pequeño pedazo de crayola (del color que quieras) para poder darle color a la mezcla de cera de abeja. Use  un palito para mezclar .

De esta manera la crayola se derretira en nuestra mezcla caliente y asi le dara color a nuestra cera de abejas.
 Pero también se puede utilizar  pasta de colorante de alimentos en lugar de crayolas.

                      

Let it cool for at least an hour (I left it over night) and take the beeswax crayons out of the ice tray!

Deje que se enfríe por lo menos durante una hora (lo dejé por toda la noche, pero no es necesario ya que la cera enfria muy rapido)y saque las crayolas  de cera de abeja de la bandeja de hielo!

Now let your child use her imagination and create wonderful art! I like smelling them too : )

Ahora deje que su niño use su imaginación y realize grandioso arte! Me gusta oler las estas crayolas tambien : )

Problems Leaving Comments

I used to have problems leaving comments in other blogs for some weird reason (it was getting frustrated) so I asked for help in the google forum and they gave me the solution!! I want to share it with all of you that may  have the same problem..It's an easy  fix.

You have a problem with authentication, and cookie filtering. First, try a different login procedure.

1. Login to Blogger using "www.blogger.com".

2. Do not check "Remember me".

If that does not help, try a second time..

1. Clear cache, cookies, and sessions (not just cache or cookies) - then restart the browser.

2. Login to Blogger using "www.blogger.com".

3. Do not check "Remember me".

Alternatively, enable "third party cookies". That's the best solution, long term.

Problemas Dejando Comentarios en Blogger

Yo solía tener problemas dejando comentarios en los blogs de otros por alguna extraña razón así que pedi  ayuda en el foro de google y me dieron la solución! Quiero compartirla conlas las personas que pueden tener el mismo problema .. Es una solución fácil.

 Usted tiene un problema con la autenticidad y filtrado de cookies. En primer lugar, trate de hacer un procedimiento de inicio de sesión diferente.
 1. Inicie sesión para utilizar Blogger "www.blogger.com".
 2. No marque "Recuérdame".

 Si eso no ayuda, intente por segunda vez .
1. Borrar la caché, cookies y sesiones (no sólo la caché o las cookies) - a continuación, reinicie el navegador.
2. Inicie sesión para utilizar Blogger "www.blogger.com".
3. No marque "Recuérdame".

 Por otra parte,no  permitir "cookies de terceros". Esa es la mejor solución a largo plazo.

Density Science Proyect

Proyecto de Ciencia acerca de Densidad

C pouring water into two glasses. Then we put 8 tablespoons of salt in one of the glasses.(but you always can add more salt).

C vertiendo el agua en dos vasos.Luego pusimos 8 cucharas de sal en uno de los vasos.(pero puedes agregar mas sal en caso lo necesites).

C puts one egg inside each glass and see what happens.

C pone un huevo dentro de cada vaso y  observamos qué pasa.

When the egg is placed in plain water it sinks. This is because the egg is denser than water. But when it is placed in salt water it floats. The reason is salt water is denser than egg, which means that it is denser than plain water. Hence we prove that salt water is denser than plain water.

Cuando el huevo se coloca en agua pura se hunde. Esto se debe a que el huevo es más denso que el agua. Pero cuando se coloca en agua salada flota. La razón es que el agua salada es más densa que el huevo, lo que significa que es más denso que el agua. Por lo tanto, podemos demostrar que el agua salada es más densa que el agua plena.

C is very interested in knowing about jobs and occupations, she likes to play to pretend that she's  a doctor, nurse or a dentist. I thought it will be a perfect time to present her these cards. I've made the Spanish version but you are more than welcome to change the labeled to English words.

I also created a little basket with medical stuff, like a bottle of medicine (I cleaned and washed really good this bottle and filled with water ...), medicine measure spoon,band-aids and a  stethoscope (We got it the last Halloween ..it's a fake one..I wish I could have a real one..my sister in law is a doctor I might ask her one she doesn't use anymore). I also hand wrote  some labels in Spanish and English for the little goodies in the basket.

 

También he creado una pequeña canasta con cosas médicas, como una botella de medicina (la limpie , lave muy bien y la llene de agua ...), cuchara de medir el medicamento, curitas y un estetoscopio (Lo compramos  en Halloween, es de juguete.. me gustaría poder tener uno verdadero .. mi cuñada es doctora, le pedire uno que ella ya no use). También escribi  a mano algunas etiquetas  en Español e Inglés para los objetos que hay en la canasta.

She also colored some printables I found here and here about being a doctor.

Tambien C coloreo algunas paginas que imprimi de aqui y aqui acerca de el doctor.

I will keep creating more set of cards like this.

Our theme for this months is Gardening, I tried to prepare most of the activities related  with our theme.

Practical Life / Vida Practica

I cut these flowers from scrapbooking paper and then laminated them, C needs to insert each flower into this empty container that has a cut that I made with a knife.

Recorte flores de papel de scrapbooking  y las lamine, C necesita usar sus dedos para insertar  cada flor por un corte que hize con un cuchillo  en la tapa de este contenedor reciclado.

Flower arrangement. I made these paper flowers from tissue paper.

 Tweezing Flowers. C  will tweeze and transfer the little flowers into the small  basket and back to the big basket .
I finger knitted these flowers here is the tutorial.

Pinzando Flores. C usa las  pinzas para transferir las  flores en la canasta pequeña y de regreso  a la canasta grande.
Use el metodo tejiendo con dedos para hacer estas flores aqui esta la tutoria.

Tweezing Roses . I bought these roses several years ago for my weeding reception but I never used them.I thought this will be a good chance : )

Pinzando rosas.Compre estas rosas de tela hace muchos años para mi recepcion de matrimonio pero no las llegamos a usar, me parecio buena idea usarlas este mes para las actividades de C : )

Sweeping Felt Leaves. To do this work C will first remove all the items from the tray, then pour the leaves onto the tray. Next she will have  to sweep the leaves into the  green rectangle  and then sweep them onto the little dust pan. From there she'll dump the leaves  into the  flower pot. I used some adhesive green satin ribbon to make  the rectangle. This Activity is a HUGE HIT!!(Thanks Mari-Ann from Counting Coconuts for the idea)

Barrer las hojas de fieltro. Para ello C debe sacar todos los elementos de la bandeja, y luego verter las hojas en la bandeja. A continuación tendrá que barrer  las hojas hacia el rectángulo verde, luego debera recogerlas con el recogedor. A partir de ahí debera volcar las hojas en la maceta. He utilizado algo de  cinta adhesiva para  crear el rectángulo.
Esta actividad es la sensacion del todas..C no se cansa de hacerla.(Gracias Mari-Ann  de Contando Cocos por la idea)

Hole Punching, using this single hole punch C will use her hands to be able to make holes in these pieces of scrapbooking paper and put them in the little box.

Perforación, con este  sacador de agujero C usara sus manos para poder hacer agujeros en las piezas de papel de scrapbooking, y colocara las sobras de papel en la cajita.

Stitching Activity. I drew this flower and did the first stitches, this way C can follow the sample.

Apple Counting . C needs to match the correct number of apples on the tree.( I printed this activity a long time ago..I can't remember the site..I'm very sorry!! but here are very similar activities).

Conteo de Manzanas. C debe coincidir con el número correcto de las manzanas en el árbol.(Imprimi esta actividad hace muchos meses atras y no recuerdo el sitio, mil disculpas, pero en este sitio hay muchas actividades parecidas)
