A visit to our local Waldorf School...

Visita a la Escuela Waldorf de Nuestra Ciudad

Like every year we went to the winter fair at the Waldorf school (5 minutes away from our home).It is very nice to see simplicity and imagination on everything in this school.I just feel so calm and happy.

Como todos los anios vamos a la feria de invierno de la escuela Waldorf la cual queda a pocos minutos de casa, es tan bonito ver simplicidad en cada cosa, por mas grannde o pequena pero sobre todo me recuerdan que aun podemos usar nuestra imaginacion para crear.

I love this room, the big window ,the books all the set up, so inviting to sit and get a book.

Me encanta este salon, te invita a escoger un libro, sentarte y leerlo contemplando el hermoso paisaje.

REAL story time, let's get outside, follow the trail,listen to each person to tell the story and go to the next to find the end...grown ups and little ones we felt like we were part of the story!

Hora de las Fabulas, salimos al area de afuera, seguimos el sendero , escuchamos a un personaje de la fabula y seguimos el sendero para buscar al siguiente personaje hasta llegar al final. Los grandes y los peques nos sentimos parte de esta fabula!

We got the magic wand (stick) back from the silly joker that wanted to stop the winter festival, now the magic wand it is safe on the queen's hands...

Recuperamos la barita magica del travieso hombrecillo que queria apoderarse de esta para congelar a todos, pero se la regresamos a la reina de a tiempo para evitarlo...

What is C's favorite thing lately?

C and I are spending a lot of time in the kitchen, seems like she is very interested in cooking and baking.Which is an awesome thing, who doesn't want a helper in the kitchen??right...

C y yo nos la pasamos en la cocina  ultimamente mas de lo acostumbrado, mi nina esta mostrando mucho interes en ayudar a mama a cocinar y sobre todo a hacer reposteria.Lo cual es fantastico, a quien no le gusta tener una ayudante en la cocina, verdad? Pues a mi me va muy bien : )

Twice a month we cook our homemade pizza,it is so much fun when we get to pick our own toppings and make it so colorful and yummy looking.

Dos veces al mes cocinamos pizza, y de verdad que nos la pasamos de maravilla, cada uno escoge los rellenos para la pizza que le agrade y la armamos de muchos colores y sabores.

Matching her imagination..

Yesterday while I was making dinner, C was busy working on something I didn't mind asking her what she was up to, after a while (20 minutes or so) I finally asked her about it and she said "mommy I am busy matching the beautiful flowers I got from your flower vase with crayons"(I never thought about that..I think it is a great idea)..don't you love when kids make up their own games, activities and work using their great imagination. I do!


Hace unos dias cuando estaba preparando la cena, note que C estaba muy entretenida en algo, iba de aqui para alla, pero la vi muy enfocada que no me atrevi a pregutarle en que andaba, para no quitarle la inspiracion, asi que al mucho rato (20 minutos o mas) me atrevi a preguntarle lo que estaba hacienod y me dijo " mami estoy emparejando los colores de las flores que saque de tu florero con los colores de los crayones"..linda respuesta, pues que me encanta que los ninos usen y saquen a lucir su bella imaginacion en sus actividades diarias...pues es que para eso son ninos.(ni a mi se me hubiera ocurrido una idea tan genial).

Now that we have baby M (2.5 months old) our home school days with C (4 years old)  have changed, We have dedicated the last months  to bond, play, read,cry,cuddle,laugh, learn about tolerance, be kind with baby's needs ,share,learn to keep our voices soft while baby sleeps,wash and fold diapers,sing lullabies, free coloring and lots of free play time. I am happy to say that finally we have a new routine that I think know it works for each of us.
This week we are going to get our home school activities rolling...yes! I am ready, C is ready and baby M is along for the ride : )  of course taking breaks for nursing and please baby too : )
I feel lucky to have them, I feel blessed to be their mom and I can't thank God enough for choosing me as their mom!! Every single smile I see on their faces I know loves is real.


Ahora que tenemos a nuestro bebé M (2 meses y medio de edad) nuestros días de escuela en casa con C (4 años) han cambiado, nos hemos limitado estos ultimos meses a jugar, leer, llorar, abrazar, reír, aprender sobre tolerancia, ser amable con las necesidades del bebé, compartir, aprender a mantener nuestra voz suave mientras duerme el bebé, a lavar pañales, a cantar canciones de cuna, a colorear libremente y un montón de tiempo a juegar de manera  libre. Estoy feliz de decir que finalmente tenemos una nueva rutina que creo  se  que funciona para cada uno de nosotros.
Esta semana vamos a empezar  nuestra escuela en casa rodando con actividades y tema de mes ... ¡sí! Estoy lista, C está lista y bebe M esta en nuestro bus...pues no le queda otra verdad?? : )
Me siento afortunada de tener a mis dos hijos , me siento bendecida al ser su mamá y no puedo agradecerle lo suficiente a Dios por haberme escogido como su mama! Cada sonrisa que veo en sus rostros me confirma que el amor existe.

A talented friend of mine offered to do some henna on my belly days ago, She always likes to share her wonderful designs on me ; ) But this time I was very impressed, isn't it lovely?

Henna is is a flowering plant used since antiquity to dye skin, hair, fingernails, leather and wool. The name is also used for dye preparations derived from the plant, and for the art of temporary tattooing based on those dyes.It usually stays in your skin for about 5-7 days.

Una amiga mia,muy talentosa  se ofreció a hacer un diseno con henna en mi pansita,a  ella siempre le gusta compartir sus diseños maravillosos conmigo ;) Pero esta vez me ha impresionado mucho, ¿no es precioso este diseno?

 La henna es una planta de flores q se utiliza  desde la antigüedad para teñir la piel, pelo, uñas, cuero y lana. También se utiliza para la preparación de colorantes derivados de la planta, y para el arte del tatuaje temporal con base en los colorantes.Por lo general se queda en su piel durante unos 5-7 días.

And of course little C (4.5 years old) wanted to give it a try, she choosed to have a flower..so sweet.

Y porsupuesto mi pequena C (4 anios y medio) tambien quiso uno, eligio una flor en su pie..linda ella.

Couple of weeks ago daddy, C and me walked 1 mile for Alaska Run for Women, this race has become a tradition on our family.
I usually run the 5 miles race but this year being 9 months pregnant we participated on the 1 mile walk.

Hace un par de semanas participamos en la carrera Alaska Run for Women, este evento es muy grande en nuestra ciudad y se ah convertido en una tradicion en nuestra familia.
Cada anio participo en la carrera de 5 millas pero este anio fue la excepcion ya que estoy 9 meses embarazada, pero pudimos participar en la caminata de 1 milla.

C and her friends visit an animal farm  " Party Ponies and Friends"days ago. It was such a cool experience for everyone.

We had the chance to feed the goats,ponies,sheep, pigs and ducks.

 

Llevamos a C y unos amigos a conocer la granja de animales " Party Ponies and Frieds"  hace algunos dias. Nos la pasamos super bien, todos desde los mas peques hasta los papas.

Tuvimos la oportunidad de dar de comer a las cabras, ponies,ovejas. cerditos y patos.

They used the wool from the sheep to make it into felt

 

C and her friends usaron la lana de esta oveja para convertirla en fibra de fieltro

Mrs. Amanda, her aunt  and her wonderful Mom (Montessori Certified Teacher) taught the children  the whole process of wool and felt.

 

La Senora Amanda, su tia y su maravillosa madre (quien es una profesora certificada en el Metodo Montessori) ensenaron a las ninos como seguir el proceso de lana y fieltro.

Of course they also have a fun playground on their big yard  and C loved it!

Y por supuesto en esta granja tambien  tienen un set de columpios y juegos genial..C se la paso de maravilla!

oh yeah! And we milked a goat..I have to say it is not easy as it looks, after that I tried goat's milk and it was good!

Oh y tambien ordeñamos una cabra, que les dire no es tan facil como parece..se debe mucha paciencia y tiempo mis amigos.

Momentos Silenciosos

Some time during the day when we are not doing school time, C would read quietly her  books and I don't feel her presence at all...yesterday when I was  busy doing laundry I didn't know where C  was, when I went  to  look for her , I found this cute scenery. (I thought twice before taking this picture because I didn't want to disturb her, but it was too cute, I had to take the picture and she didn't even noticed... or the book was too interesting to notice my presence : )

Hay momentos de esos silenciosos que me gustan y disfruto, especialmente cuando C esta en casa y no noto su presencia ( suena feo pero lo digo en el buen sentido eh! ) yo adoro pasar tiempo con C pero a la vez es una nina muy bulliciosa : )la mayoria del tiempo!! Uno de esos momentos especiales es cuando C se pierde en casa para poder leer sus libros, digo se pierde porque no se donde esta, la llamo y me ignora, entonces cuando la voy a buscar encuentro escenarios como el de esta foto, sentada en el piso de la cocina leyendo libros, normalmente no tomo las fotos por no molestar su tranquilidad pero esta era muy tierna, asi que la tome, pero lo mas bonito fue que ni ella se entero! yo creo que estaba disfrutando mucho de ese momento como para darme bola eh! : )

Cerca  a la Naturaleza

We spent our Fourth of July in the local reindeer farm, visiting some elks,and reindeers. I don't know how to express with words how important is for me to expose my child to nature, teach her the love for animals and know a little bit more about them.

Pasamos nuestro 4  de Julio en la granja de renos , visitando algunos alces, y renos. No sé cómo expresar con palabras lo importante que es para mí exponer a mi hija a la naturaleza, enseñarle el amor por los animales y conocer un poco más acerca de ellos.

We also find a cat and C wanted to pet it.

You remember one of my post from last week about C not letting her a lady paint fer face, well I promised her  I will buy face painting and I did it !! As you can imagine C was so so so excited when she opened the box , she painted my face, my arm and daddy's hand as well..we are having so much fun.

It is so nice how we can get kids to smile with such an easy activity, just give them the opportunity to dream pretending to be something different for a minute!!

It will be nice if they keep being so simple forever...don't you think? 

¿Te acuerdas de uno de mis post de la semana  pasada que hablaba de C y pintura de cara , bueno  le prometí que iba  a comprar pintura de cara y lo hice! Como se pueden imaginar C estaba  tan tan tan emocionada que  me  pintó la cara, el brazo y papa tampoco se salvo eh...a el tambien le pinto el brazo ..... nos estamos divirtiendo mucho.

Es tan agradable cómo podemos hacer que los niños  sonrian con una actividad fácil, basta con darles la oportunidad de soñar a pretende a ser algo diferente por  un dia!  Ojala y no cambiaran esa sencillez  en un futuro...verdad?

 I bought this kit  at amazon for $16...I'm very impress with the result, the book tells you step by step,the paint is very smooth and easy to wash off...you can tell is not "cheap paint". Everybody was impress with the results..makes you look professional : )

Compré este kit en Amazon por $ 16 ... Estoy muy impresionanda con el resultado, el libro te da el tutorial de paso a paso de cada figura, la pintura es muy suave y fácil de lavar ...  no es "pintura barata" . Te  hace ver profesional : )

Hora de dormir

We took this picture last night after C fell asleep in our bed...WE do the whole evening routing everyday,bath,brushing theeth,read books and more  books and then we kiss her good night but sometimes she is not ready to sleep  yet...so she asks to go to our bed and read more books(she has a basket full of books in my bedroom)until she falls asleep...and then we need to take her back to her bed...Did I mention how much she loves reading? .....so cute!

Tomamos esta foto ayer por la noche después de que  C se durmió en nuestra cama ... NOSOTROS hacemos la misma rutina todos los dias, baño, lavarse los dientes, leer libros y más libros y luego beso de buenas noches y a su cama ,pero a veces ella no esta lista para dormir, ... entonces pide ir a la cama de mama y papa  a leer mas libros (tiene una cesta llena de libros en mi dormitorio) hasta que se duerma  ... y luego tenemos que llevarla de vuelta a su cama. .. ¿ he dicho lo mucho que le gusta leer? ..... esta foto es adorable.!
