Nature Time

Days ago we went for a camping trip..We had a wonderful time enjoying nature, taking a break on our chores and having quality family time.

Hace unos días fuimos de campamento .. Nos la pasamos muy bien disfrutando de la naturaleza, hicimos una pausa en nuestras tareas y pasamos tiempo en familia.

Little C learned more about nature..she said "mommy the fire seems hot...be careful don't be so close".

La pequena C experimento ciertas vivencias..me dijo "mami el fuego se siente caliente..con cuidado..no muy cerca"

One of our favorite activities is reading books...we take books everywhere we go...even when we go camping!

Una de nuestras actividades favoritas es la lectura de libros ... llevamos libros a todas partes incluso cuando vamos de campamento!

Making breakfast with daddy...she was very impressed!

Haciendo el desayuno con papa..ella tuvo mucha curiosidad de como preparamos la comida.

Learning to use the fishing net...she was excited.

Aprendiendo a usar la red de pesca..ella estuvo muy emocionada.

Of course, we took her boat with us and also we got some clams.

Por supuesto, llevamos su bote pequeno para jugar en el lago y tambien obtuvimos unas almejas.

Fun Ice Pops

I had lots of fun making these ice pops,I wanted something very different in texture and flavor.
First I made the red color, using fresh strawberries that I blended with a tsp. of sugar. I poured them in plastic cups( I recycled them from apple sauce snacks..I've saved a lot of these containers for different activities).Then put them in the freezer for 4 hours.
Second step was the white color, I used free fat,low sugar vanilla yogurt I bought it at the grocery store,and once again let it freeze for 4 hours.
The last color was orange,I made some orange gelatin,then poured in the cups and then freeze until hard. (I inserted the sticks after the red color (strawberries) was semi frozen).


Me divertí mucho haciendo estas paletas de helado, yo quería algo muy diferente en textura y sabor.
Primero hice el color rojo, con fresas frescas ligeramente licuadas con una cucharadita de azúcar. Luego lo sirvo en los embases de plástico (reciclados de los snacks de pure de manzana organico,guarde muchos de esos embases y los utilizo en diferentes actividades).
A continuación, los puse en el congelador durante 4 horas.
El segundo paso,fue el color blanco, utilize yogurt de vainilla bajo de azucar y cero en grasa, lo compré en el supermercado, y una vez mas deje que congele durante 4 horas.
El último color es el anaranjado, hice una gelatina de naranja, después se vierte en las tazas hasta que congele.
Inserte los palitos cuando el color rojo estuvo semi congelado.

Stitching Board

Little C likes this classic natural wood sewing activity because it feels just like sewing. It's easy! Just thread the needle in and out of the holes and then retrace your pattern back out.This board teaches hand and eye coordination, dexterity and pattern design.
I bought this, years ago while I was going to college I can't remember where. But looks like it is easy to design, I guess you could also use some cardboard (as the board) draw some circles on it, cut them out,add a string with a little stick ready to sew!

A la pequena C le gusta esta actividad porque se siente igual coser. ¡Es fácil! Sólo enhebrar la aguja dentro y fuera de los agujeros y luego volver sobre el mismo patrón.
Enseña coordinación ojo-manual, destreza y patrón de diseño.
No puedo recordar donde lo compre, fue hace años cuando yo iba a la universidad.
Pero,es fácil de diseñar, supongo que también podria usar algo de cartón (como el tablero) establecer algunos círculos sobre él, recortarlos, agregar una cadena con un palito listo para coser!

Peg Board Activity

This is another fun fine motor skills activity for little C. Daddy made the wood board he used the drill to make the holes. I got the little peg colorful pieces from my mother's house. They were mine when I was a child I used to play with them.
She really enjoys this activity!


Esta es otra actividad para desarrollar la motricidad fina.
Papa hizo el tablero de madera, utilizó el taladro para hacer los agujeros. Consegui las clavijas pequenas de colores de la casa de mi mama. Yo solia hacer la misma actividad de pequena.
Little C disfruta mucho de esta actividad!

Spell Time

Lately Little C's favorite activity is Spell Time. we got this tool in a garage sale for $0.50 cents. My daughter plays with it at least twice a day.

This game is great for a child's spelling and reading.I like this game because kids can tell the difference between colors,they can build words on their own and also it is fun!!The most important part for me is the self-correcting feature gives them instant feedback. The success they have with Spell Time helps to improve not only reading but also writing.
I also take this game whenever we go out for dinner..we play with it while we wait for our food to arrive.

Very easy to store!

Últimamente la actividad favorita de la pequena C es el juego de deletrear.Obtuvimos este juego en una venta de garaje por $ 0,50 centavos. Mi hija juega con él al menos dos veces al día.

Este juego es muy bueno para la ortografía y lectura de un niño .Me gusta este juego, porque los niños pueden diferenciar los colores, pueden formar palabras por sí mismos y también es divertido! La parte más importante para mí es la función de autocorrección.

Llevo este juego cada vez que salimos a cenar .. para jugar con él mientras esperamos nuestra comida.

Muy fácil de almacenar.
I think there are 17 or more picture boards.

Este juego viene con algo de 17 tarjetas de figuras.

The letters have color codes..if the letter doesn't go there it won't fit in the little holes...self correction!

Las letras tienen diferentes codigos de colores. Si la letra no pertenece a la palabra simplemente no entra en los espacios. De esa manera los ninos pueden auto corregirse.

Very organized way to keep all the stuff.

Tiene diferentes compartimientos para mantener todo en su lugar.

Sailing day

A while ago we made a boat from sticks we collected in one of our walks. We really have fun playing with it.. This weekend we went camping, we took Little C's boat with us to play at the lake..she discovered that "her boat floats",she loves loves loves it!

It is simple to make, you just need sticks (I didn't have to cut them or anything like that..those sticks were the right size), some wool and scissors.

Hace un tiempo hicimos un bote de palos que recolectamos en uno de nuestros paseos.
Realmente nos divertimos jugando con el bote .. Este fin de semana nos fuimos de campamento,llevamos el bote de la pequeña C con nosotros para jugar en el lago .. ella descubrió que "su bote flota", le encanta!

Es fácil de hacerlo, sólo se necesita palos (no tuve que cortarlos, ni nada de eso .. los palos eran del tamaño adecuado), un poco de lana y tijeras.

We tied the sticks together using the wool.

Atamos los palos juntos usando la lana.

Then we tied one of the sticks to the middle of the boat.

Luego atamos un palo al centro del bote.

Ready to sail!!

Listo para navegar!!


And of course the captain of the boat is Little C.

Y por supuesto la capitana del bote es la pequena C.

New Montessori Stuff

I while ago Mommy Moment organized $100 giveaway for purchase on Perrytech Montessori.
Guess who was the winner???YES!!It was ME.. Thank you Mommy Moment and thank you Perrytech Montessori.I was so excited when I found out..I couldn't believe it.
We got the package days ago..little C was very very excited.

She loved loved loved her World Puzzle Map...she did her puzzle three times in a row as soon as she opened the box.

A ella le encanto el Rompecabezas del Mapa del Mundo...lo hizo tres repetidas despues que abrio el paquete.

And the next day she did it again and again.

Y al dia siguiente lo hizo una y otra vez.

We also got the Colored Bead Stair.

Tambien nos llego La Escalera de perlas de colores.

And The small Numerical Rods (2 sets with box and numbers)...I know..pretty cool!

Y las barras numéricas pequeñas (2 juegos con caja y números) ... super genial.

And a Stand for a Pink Tower (we needed one for our homemade tower I know is not pink but I like it that way too).

Y por ultimo un estante para nuestra torre (la torre la fabricamos en casa).

Oatmeal cookies

I love baking with little C because it gives her the chance to get messy and feel different textures..it is really fun!
Here for the video recipe. I also like to try different recipes...you know just looking on line..I was really surprised this recipe turned out really yummy (was very very easy too).

Me gusta hacer reposteria con la pequena C porque le da la oportunidad de experimentar nuevas texturas,olores y probar nuevos sabores.
Aqui esta la receta para estas galletas de avena, siempre busco preparar nuevas recetas, variar es importante.Fue muy facil, rapido y muy rico.

Beautiful Art

It is summer, we try to spend most of the time outside making crafts,doing yoga,painting, playing with water ballons,doing gardening,looking for birds,leafs,insects,sticks,etc. Today We did some painting!

Es verano y tratamos de pasar mucho tiempo afuera, hacemos yoga, hacemos manualodades, hacemos jardineria,jugando con agua..y buscando por vida natural como insectos y aves.
Hoy dia pintamos!

You will need : paint,balls (maybe marbles,golf balls,any kind of balls)paper, empty box and string.

Para este proyecto se necesita: pintura,pelotas,caja vacia e hileras.

Put the balls on the paint

Coloca las pelotas en la pintura

Then put the balls inside the paper in the empty box.

Coloca el papel en la caja y luego las pelotas dentro de la caja.

Shake..shake..shake

Sacude la caja..

Now for the final detail you can use a string to give another touch..I told C "the string is jumping..up and down..up and down)

Para el retoque final puedes usar la hilera, la pones en el plato de pintura y luego la llevas a la caja y la haces saltar, le dije a la pequena C "la hilera esta saltando arriba..abajo..arriba..abajo..)
It is such a beautiful picture made with simple stuff and lots of fun.

Es un cuadro muy bonito hecho con cosas simples pero sobre todo muchas ganas de divertirse.
